„Effective Heat and Temperature Control“ is HOBRA’s comprehensive mark, under which all the company’s products and services in refractory and insulation applications are identified. In essence, it is a marketing project which covers everything HOBRA manufactures, offers and supplies in these spheres.

Metallurgy and foundry

Foundry is the industry where HOBRA insulation products have found perhaps the largest application in the TVAROFORM product range of thermally insulating shaped forms. TVAROFORM refractory shaped forms are used predominantly in the following applications: sprue holes for the Lost Foam technology, pouring runners, mould inlets, filter carriers, melting pots, insulation of furnace inlet holes and spouts, insulation of risers, metallurgy of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and as a substitute for asbestos materials (seals, protection, etc.).

Equipment (furnaces, ladles, etc.), as insulation sealing or separate insulation, for the protection of probes, pyrometers, inspection holes and orifices. Individual application examples are specified in the product sheets of the respective materials.

A brief overview of the particular applications of HOBRA products in the metallurgical industry:
